Working with Vendors to Achieve Accessible Databases and Platforms
Event box
This workshop will provide you with information and background on assessing vendor compliance with Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPATs). Kate Lynch shares her experiences from the Temple University Libraries, working to ensure that vendors are compliant with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. Find out more about the VPA templates; how to work with them; their effectiveness and drawbacks. Take this opportunity to learn how we at Penn can meet (and determine if we are meeting) accessibility standards through setting expectations for our database and platform vendors.
This is the second of a four workshop accessibility series sponsored by the Liaison Services Council and organized and presented by Leslie Vallhonrat, Ivan Goldsmith, Kate Lynch and Alice McGrath.
