Gephi is a tool for network analysis that will allow students to see, measure and explore the connections between people, places and ideas that they might not otherwise be able to visualize. Beyond simply showing networks, Gephi also allows students can determine the strength of connections and assess the meaning of the links they reveal. Instructors in fields as diverse as English, Sociology, Political Science and Physics have used it to allow students to organize and reimagine data of various types. This workshop will introduce faculty to Gephi by allowing participants to discuss how an assignment worked with English professor Zack Lesser and staff from CTL and Penn Libraries.
Designed for a faculty audience. Lunch will be provided.
