The 2018 Demystifying Medicine Series, which is jointly sponsored by FAES and NIH, will begin January 9th and includes the presentation of patients, pathology, diagnosis and therapy in the context of major disease problems and current research. Primarily directed toward Ph.D. students, clinicians and program managers, the course is designed to help bridge the gap between advances in biology and their application to major human diseases. Each session includes clinical and basic science components presented by NIH staff and invitees.
This years topics range include cancer immunotherapy, the microbiome, fetal gene therapy, the opioid epidemic, and many more, presented by leading scientists and cutting-edge researchers. The complete schedule of presentation is available at https://demystifyingmedicine.od.nih.gov/
View the webcasts live with your colleagues, and stay for light refreshments, discussion, and networking, from 4:00-6:00 pm every Tuesday from January 9th through May 8th in the Biomedical Library Conference Room. Supplementary material for each presentation, including recommended readings, presentation notes and other information will be available through the Demystifying Medicine website and email list.
If you can't make it to the live webcasts at Biomed, NIH will be making the classes available at http://videocast.nih.gov.
