Have you thought about hosting your own website but aren't sure where to start? In this workshop, we'll discuss the benefits of self-hosting and how it works. Participants will learn about domains, hosting, and files and how they come together to make a website. We'll walk through from start to finish how to choose a domain, get hosting for a website, and install WordPress.org on a server. There will be plenty of time for questions.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Explain how domains, hosting, and files come together to make websites.
  2. Evaluate different hosting and domain methods and services.
  3. Set up a WordPress site on a personal server and connect domain.
