This workshop will demonstrate a variety of tools supported by the Penn Libraries for working on Digital Research Projects, including Omeka, Scalar, StoryMap, TimelineJS, and Google Fusion. We will also look at a number of different sample projects of varying scale, topic, and team size to demonstrate how you can put these tools into practice. This includes:

  • how to make informed decisions about the digital tools you will use
  • the terminology necessary to critically discuss software applications
  • the necessary preparations at the beginning of a project that will ensure ease in collaboration and sharing/accessing the data and research results
