Come learn to work with BioCyc: a collection of Pathway Genome Databases (PGDBs) that provides information on genomes and metabolic pathways for thousands of organisms.

This one hour workshop will be the first workshop in the series where it provides you with an introduction to BioCyc and showcase the various features BioCyc supports. In addition, there will be an interactive demo that complements the overview on BioCyc.

The second workshop in the series will focus on BioCyc tools such as SmartTables, ortholog comparative-analysis, and MUSCLE in exploring similarities and differences between topoisomerase I protein sequences from E. coli, M. tuberculosis, and Bacillus subtilis (hay bacillus).
