Once again, the curators in the Kislak Center will welcome in the new academic year by sharing some of the exciting acquisitions made in the past year. From a hand-colored 1794 map of Philadelphia, the first great street plan of the city, to a collection of late 18th/early 19th century theater playbills from Osaka, Japan, to a fully illustrated, four-volume work on the peoples and costumes of the world, to a 1791 fan with mounted allegorical stipple engravings celebrating the French Revolution, to a collection of Marian Anderson test pressings and in-studio recordings (ca. 1940), the range and breadth of these new holdings is impressive.

Drop in to get a firsthand look at some of these fascinating new arrivals and hear about them from the curatorial staff.
