Two recent acquisitions, an embroidered artist's book in the form of a scroll and a facsimile folding almanac with the binding in the shape of a bat, illustrate how medieval manuscripts are influencing modern book art. In this talk, curator Dot Porter will use these books as a gateway to discussing creative criticism, and how Kislak collections can inspire creativity. She will also share how the Vitale II Lab for Book History and Digital Humanities is helping students learn about our collections as they explore creative arts.
