Updates on the NIH Data Management & Sharing Policy
Event box
Researchers who are funded by the NIH or will be funded by the NIH, need to know how to comply with the NIH's Data Management & Sharing Policy (DMSP). Recent changes have been made to the requirements, include the format and information required for the Data Management & Sharing Plan. Active NIH awards will have to transition to the new NIH DMSP form at the next RPPR. This workshop will provide policy explanations, guidance, and resources for researchers on the current implementation of the policy and the recent updates. Since the University of Pennsylvania is a major recipient of NIH funding, it is vital that Penn researchers are aware of this upcoming change and know how to comply.
Learning Outcomes:
- Understand the purposes of the new policy
- Interpret new updates to the NIH DMSP policy and how it applies to you
- Evaluate how the updated DMSP form will impact actual data management towards the end of the funding period
Audience:
- NIH funded researchers or researchers interested in applying for NIH grant funding
- Researchers who have a current NIH grant, as requirements have shifted.
Prerequisites:
- None
