This workshop will be a moderated discussion with graduate student presenters who have been engaging digital and remote ethnographic methods over the last 18 months. Those attending will have a chance to listen to short oral presentations on “field notes” from the invited speakers, ask questions, and contribute to an open discussion around the place of these methods in the field, ethical considerations, practical challenges, etc. The short presentations will include: "Field Work and/as Care Work: Patchwork Ethnography During COVID-19", "Ethnography of a Database", “Remote Ethnography of Remote Work”, and several others.
