Explore Art and Architecture: Architectural Archives, Materials Library, and Common Press with the Stuart Weitzman School of Design
Architectural Archives, 220 S. 34th St.
10am-12pm
Aspiring artists, architects, and designers are invited to visit the historic Furness Building and see what is happening at the Architectural Archives, Materials Library, and Common Press. Start with a workshop at the Architectural Archives, where participants will interact with original work by designers, and learn how they sketch and photograph to develop ideas. Next, the Materials Library and Common Press will be open to all to explore. At the Materials Library, touch and learn about the unique sustainable materials artists and architects use to change the world. At the Common Press, take part in a letterpress printing demonstration, and learn how books were printed before computers. Suitable for ages 8-15.
