A team from the Schoenberg Institute for Manuscript Studies, Cultural Heritage Computing, and Research Data and Digital Scholarship at Penn Libraries have been working since summer 2023 to learn more about HTR and using AI technologies to help transcribe and research materials from Penn Libraries’ digitized manuscript collections. We are now exploring the possibility of setting up an interest group composed of librarians, curators, programmers, faculty, and students to explore how we may work together to use these technologies in our research and teaching.
In this meeting, we will present the results of our work so far, demonstrating the research value of using HTR at Penn Libraries. We will also share our newly launched webpage with resources and our progress to date.
The meeting will be 60 minutes and will be hybrid, both in person and on Zoom.
If you are interested in presenting at one of our Wednesday at 12:00 events, please fill out the Penn Libraries Presents form.
