On October 16th, RDDS will officially launch the Petrodelphia digital history project – a digital exhibit showcasing historic and archival materials related to the deeply intertwined history of the city of Philadelphia and the petrochemical industry. This project, a partnership between Jared Farmer (Walter H. Annenberg Professor of History and Department Chair), and RDDS (Cynthia HeiderBen LeibersohnLynda Kellam, and Matt Hunter) has been underway since 2023.

The launch event, hosted in RDDSx during Penn’s Climate Week, will bring together key project stakeholders to discuss the work done and topics about the history of Philadelphia’s relationship to fossil fuels and other petrochemical products.
