An informal lunch or coffee time to meet virtually with Kislak curators and talk about one of the manuscripts from Penn's collections. Each week we'll feature a different manuscript and the expertise of one of our curators. Everyone is welcome to attend.

To welcome you to the 2026-2027 academic year, we're starting on September 3rd with a special one-hour event featuring two large liturgical books with musical notation. Curator Dot Porter will be joined by Anna Siebach-Larsen, Ph.D., Director of the Rossell Hope Robbins Library and Koller-Collins Center for English Studies at the University of Rochester. Dot will have Ms. Codex 1233, a notated breviary written in Cologne around 1450 and used continuously through the 18th century, and Anna will bring out River Campus Libraries, Medieval and Early Modern Manuscript Collection, cod. e 2, a notated gradual, Cistercian Use, from the Cistercian Abbey of Barbeau. c. 1240-1260. Note that we'll be meeting for a full hour, so plan accordingly!
