Jamar Nicholas, Cartoonist-in-Residence is available for office hours! Come meet Jamar if you have curiosities about storytelling through comics, graphic novels, or other narrative mediums. If you see Jamar at the booth, don't be shy!
Penn Libraries Community Engagement and the Kislak Center for Special Collections, Rare Books and Manuscripts are partnering on the very first edition of The Storytelling Project via a residency program. This initiative will work to connect Penn Libraries resources with the K-12 audience served through our school library programming and provide opportunities for School District of Philadelphia students to learn more about the storytelling process through the medium of graphic novels and comics. Our very first resident is Cartoonist-in-Residence Jamar Nicholas, a Philadelphia-based cartoonist and the creator of the popular series, Leon.
