Schoenberg Database Data Entry Workshop
Ever wonder how the SDBM takes information from 19th and 20th century sources and turns it into structured data?
The Schoenberg Database of Manuscripts (SDBM) is offering data entry workshops to teach new users how to create data in the SDBM. Participants will transcribe data from digitized catalogs into database entries, capturing descriptive and provenance information in a structured format that creates searchable and linkable data. We will discuss the SDBM’s content standards, authority files, and data linking process. By learning how to create SDBM data, you will also deepen your understanding of how to search and browse the database.
To participate, you will need to an SDBM user account and a basic understanding of the SDBM’s mission and data model. If you are brand new to the database, or have never created SDBM data before, we ask that you watch the recording of our introductory webinar before attending a data entry workshop.
