In this session aimed at students and early-career authors in particular, Shannon Robinson (Assistant Director, Fisher Fine Arts Library) and Deb Stewart (Head, Penn Museum Library) will share their expertise in finding images, understanding image rights, and seeking permissions to use in dissertations and publications. Topics will include:

  • what rights artists, photographers, and other creators retain for images and objects that they create,
  • how to find images, free or for purchase,
  • how to request images and permissions from rights holders and cultural heritage organizations.

This workshop is co-sponsored by the Penn Museum Graduate Advisory Council and its Dissertation Writing Group.
