Sharing your work enables you to reach the broadest audience. It can not only help you connect with your peers and with scholars in your field, but more broadly in the academic world and to the general public. There are benefits and challenges connected with sharing and you will want to consider a range of issues, including copyright and permissions, comidification, and time investment. Rebecca Stuhr will be presenting on some of the major academic sharing sites, including Academia.edu and ResearchGate, Humanities Commons, and arXiv as well as sharing on Penn's institutional repository, ScholarlyCommons. Participants will:

• Understand how social media visibility can be measured and enhanced
• Gain familiarity with for profit and not for profit sites and their audiences
• Understand how the sites differ from one another
• Be introduced to how copyright limitations factor into sharing your work
• The possibilities for collaboration through acadmic platforms
• Giving your work the attention it deserves
