An informal lunch or coffee time to meet virtually with Kislak curators and talk about one of the manuscripts from Penn's collections. Each week we'll feature a different manuscript and the expertise of one of our curators. Everyone is welcome to attend. On October 11, Curator Dot Porter will bring out LJS 54, a brief explanation of the office of notary and the purpose of notarial documents (f. 1r), followed by transcriptions of deeds and acts arranged in subject order as examples for a notary drawing up a document. Written in Padua between 1227 and 1237. See the record here: https://franklin.library.upenn.edu/catalog/FRANKLIN_9949359023503681
