Please join us in the Holman Reading Room of the Biotech Commons for a discussion of Dr. Jonathan Reisman's new book "The Unseen Body: A Doctor's Journey Through the Hidden Wonders of Human Anatomy."

Dr. Reisman illustrates the complex structures and catastrophic potential of the human body with examples from his medical education and practice, from travels with indigenous peoples around the world, and from adventures in eating uncommon meats. His widely-praised book is informative and accessible to lay-people, health sciences students, and scientists alike.

The Biotech Common's Biomeditations booktalks are informal conversations with authors from Penn and the Philadelphia area writing about health sciences and associated topics. We strive for a mix of informative and authoritative presentations and lively dialogue between author and audience.

Books will not be available for sale at this event but members of the local Making Worlds Bookstore co-op will be on-hand to take orders. This is an in-person event. There is no formal masking requirement at Penn Libraries but individual's masking preferences are respected.
