An informal lunch or coffee time to meet virtually with Kislak curators and talk about one of the manuscripts from Penn's collections. Each week we'll feature a different manuscript and the expertise of one of our curators. Everyone is welcome to attend. On November 15 guest host Shreve Simpson will show us LJS 278, an illustrated herbal with detailed descriptions of the physical appearance and the medicinal effect of many plants, as well as some trees, minerals, and substances derived from animals. Written in Deccan, India, in Muḥarram A.H. 1004 (1595) or AH 1054 (1645). See the record here: https://franklin.library.upenn.edu/catalog/FRANKLIN_9949183233503681
