SUMMARY:Walking Tour: Penn's Revolutionary Campus
DESCRIPTION:Where was Penn in 1776? Not in West Philadelphia! Join
Revolution at Penn? curators Jim Duffin and John Pollack for a walking tour
of Old City that will bring to life the sites associated with Penn in the
18th century. The tour will begin at the site of the Benjamin Franklin's
grave at 5th and Arch Streets and move through the historic streets where
the faculty and students of early Penn lived and studied\, ending at 5th
between Chestnut and Walnut Streets\, a few blocks from where we started.
We will cover about one and a half miles in 2 hours\, stopping to learn the
stories of the many figures who were part of the school’s history\,
famous and forgotten. Rain or shine. NOTE: there are uneven surfaces
throughout the area\, so consider bringing a walking stick\, if you have
one. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
